Our Mission
To professionally serve the needs of western Arkansas youth and their families by providing community-based intervention and advocacy services that will:
- Reduce Family Conflict
- Promote Family Reunification
- Prevent Juvenile Delinquency
- Prevent Youth's Entry or Further Advancement into the Juvenile Justice System

Our History
Comprehensive Juvenile Services, Inc. opened in 1977 as a private, non-profit community based youth services agency, dedicated to providing needed services to youth age 8 through 17, and their families in western Arkansas. CJS serves 1,000 youth each year in Sebastian, Crawford, Franklin, Logan, Scott, Polk and Montgomery counties.
CJS is funded through many sources, including State contracts with the Department of Human Services/Division of Youth Services, Federal grants, local appropriations, and gifts and donations from private and public individuals and organizations.
Support from local charities and individuals is an important part of the overall agency effort. CJS policies and procedures conform to all applicable State and Federal guidelines as a non-profit agency.
CJS is licensed by the Arkansas Department of Human Services/Division of Child Care and Early Childhood Education as a licensed Child Placement Agency and as a licensed Residential Child Care Facility.
Comprehensive Juvenile Services provides services throughout western Arkansas without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, national origin, age, disability or genetic information.
